HTC Corporation is a Taiwanese user electronics firm whose headquarter is based in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It was founded in 1997 by Cher Wang, H. T, and Peter Chou. HTC started as an original design producer and original equipment producer, designing and manufacturing handsets.

After originally making phones based typically on Windows Mobile, it became a co-founding associate of the Open Handset Alliance, an assembly of phone manufacturers and phone network operators committed to the improvement of the Android mobile operating system. The HTC Dream, marketed by T-Mobile in many countries as the T-Mobile G1, was the first phone on the arcade to run Android.
